Nú er í gangi auglýsing tillögu að deiliskipulagsbreytingu á vinnslustigi.

Breytingarnar eru eftirfarandi:

Stækka byggingarreit á lóð Hafnarstrætis 87-89, vegna fyrirhugaðrar stækkunar sem og að reitur innihaldi núverandi rými undir Kirkjutröppunum (er núna utan byggingarreits)
Stækka rými (áður almenningssalerni) undir Kirkjutröppunum um u.þ.b. 70 til 90 m2. Loka og nýta rými í undirgöngum, u.þ.b. 70 m 2. Hönnun stækkunar miðast við að byggingin falli vel inn í umhverfið og skerði sem minnst ásýnd Kirkjutrappa og Akureyrarkirkju – sjá hugmynd að útliti í kynningu. Nýta rými undir Kirkjutröppum sem verslunar- og þjónusturými. Breyta hluta bílastæða norðan við rými í útisvæði sem yrði nýtt í tengslum við verslunar- og þjónusturými. Tvö stæði fyrir hreyfihamlaða verða áfram á núverandi stað.
Uppfæra nýtingarhlutfall miðað við núverandi byggingarmagn á lóð og fyrirhugaða stækkun. Nýtingarhlutfall á lóðinni verður 2,50.
